LaWanna Bradford’s Cinematic Tribute to Courage, Faith, and Healing
When seven women in LaWanna Bradford’s life were diagnosed with breast cancer, she realized something had to change—not just in medicine, but in the way the world listens. Their stories were not only about pain or prognosis; they were stories of strength, sisterhood, and rediscovery. Out of that realization, Beyond the Battle: Where Beauty Meets Strength was born—a two-part breast cancer awareness docuseries airing exclusively on e360TV.com on Choose to Challenge TV show on October 20 and 27, 2025, at 6 PM ET.
This powerful project, created and produced by LaWanna Bradford, MPA, transcends traditional awareness campaigns. It’s an emotional odyssey that shines a light on the courage of seven remarkable women—Ferlie Almonte (3 years), Tamara L. Hunter (11 years,), Sue Carney (26 years), Lyn-Dee “Woobie” Eldridge (8 years), Selina D. Freeman Adams (8 years), Dr. Linda Jordon (10 years) and Dr. Michele D. Clark (10 years) — who share their journeys through diagnosis, treatment, and triumph.
Each woman’s narrative unfolds as a testament to human resilience and the beauty that remains unbroken in the face of adversity. Together, they illustrate the essence of Bradford’s vision: to move beyond statistics and uncover the soul of survival.
A Vision Born from Compassion
For LaWanna, the seeds of Beyond the Battle were planted long before the cameras began to roll. “The inspiration came from witnessing the quiet strength and unspoken fears of the women I love,” she shares. “When seven women in my life were diagnosed with breast cancer, I saw firsthand the courage it takes not only to fight but to live—to rise each day with faith despite uncertainty.”
Bradford’s motivation wasn’t rooted in production or publicity—it was deeply personal. She wanted to create a platform where women could reclaim their power and tell their stories unapologetically. “My goal was to shift the conversation from one of survival to one of sovereignty,” she explains. “Where women reclaim their power, purpose, and identity beyond cancer.”
Beyond the Battle isn’t just a docuseries—it’s a movement. It redefines what awareness means by blending storytelling with advocacy, empathy, and empowerment.
From Awareness to Advocacy

LaWanna Bradford’s journey began with a simple call for awareness: encouraging women to get screened, schedule mammograms, and prioritize their health. But over time, she realized that awareness was only the surface. Beneath the pink ribbons and annual campaigns lies an emotional landscape few truly understand.
“I began to understand the deeper emotional landscape survivors navigate—the identity shifts, the fears, and the silent strength it takes to rebuild,” she reflects. “Today, my advocacy is about healing—body, mind, and spirit—and creating communities of women who rise together through faith and shared experience.”
This vision led her to found Celebrate You Embracing Total Awareness, a global community that has touched more than 15,000 women across 10 nations. The initiative encourages women to love and celebrate themselves—mentally, physically, spiritually, emotionally, and financially. Through workshops, online programs, and sisterhood circles, women are reminded that healing is not just about recovery—it’s about rediscovery.
Stories That Heal and Inspire
Bradford believes in the transformative power of storytelling. “When women hear real stories—when they see faces, not statistics—they listen differently,” she says.
Through Beyond the Battle and her e360TV programs such as Choose to Challenge, she uses real-life narratives to educate and inspire. Her storytelling approach does not preach— it connects. Viewers meet survivors seen beauty through scars, and who have redesigned their lives one day, one prayer, one smile at a time.
One viewer’s story stands as proof of the impact. “A woman once told me that hearing the voices on Choose to Challenge during Breast Cancer Awareness Month encouraged her to finally get screened,” Bradford recalls. “Her mammogram caught the cancer early. She said, ‘Your show didn’t just touch my heart—it saved my life.’ That’s when I knew this work was making a real difference—it truly takes a village.”

Dispelling Myths and Breaking Barriers
Part of Bradford’s advocacy involves confronting persistent myths about breast cancer. One common misconception is that it only affects older women or those with a family history of the disease. “Breast cancer doesn’t discriminate—age, race, or lifestyle,” she emphasizes.
She also highlights the misconception that life “returns to normal” after treatment. “Survivors often live with ongoing physical and emotional challenges. That’s why it’s so important to keep the conversation alive—beyond diagnosis, through healing and thriving.”
Her team works tirelessly to reach women in rural and underserved communities—places where access, information, and trust are often lacking. “Many women still don’t have regular screenings due to lack of insurance or culturally relevant outreach,” she explains. “That’s why partnerships and grassroots connections are essential. Through the organization we support, we are able to bring the message to where women are—churches, community centers, online spaces—and meet them with compassion, not judgment.”
The Power of Collaboration

For Bradford, collaboration is at the heart of progress. Her partnerships with organizations like Chemo Buddies 4 Life (Founded by Tamara L. Hunter) and LIFT After Breast Cancer (founded by Dr. Michele D. Clark) expand the scope and strength of her outreach.
/She has also worked with the Office of Minority Health and Health Equity and the Office of Women’s Health, helping to craft wellness strategies that maximize awareness and improve health outcomes. Together, these alliances ensure that messages of prevention, education, and empowerment reach every corner of the community.
“Collaboration bridges the gap between awareness and action,” Bradford says. “We amplify education, empathy, and empowerment so that no woman feels alone in her journey.”
Looking Ahead: Beyond the Screen
While Beyond the Battle launches as a two-part docuseries, LaWanna Bradford’s vision is far bigger. She plans to expand the initiative into a year-round campaign—offering wellness workshops, educational resources, and global partnerships that sustain awareness long after the cameras stop rolling.
Her message to the world is simple yet profound: “If you can reach one woman—one sister, one friend, one mother—and encourage her to check herself, you’ve already made a difference. Awareness begins with empathy.”
Though Beyond the Battle spotlights seven women, their stories echo the countless voices still fighting. LaWanna Bradford reminds us that breast cancer knows no gender—over 2,600 men are diagnosed each year. Their stories, too, deserve to be seen and heard. The message is clear: We can fight. We can rise. We can win. Our vision must go beyond the cure—to eradicating this disease once and for all.
